How Oasis Teaches Critical Thinking Skills

Our flagship course, the Oasis Foundations in Applied Critical Thinking Skills, is a two-day fully immersive overview of the proprietary methodology that is at the core of the Oasis value-add for our clients.  We share a full suite of techniques from our toolkit in a “learn by doing” environment of rigorously critical, creative, and curious thinking, leading participants to apply what they are learning from the very first exercise through to the final moments of our time together.

  • This is not a passive delivery of presentations, but a dynamic, co-active pedagogical environment that allows us to tailor the delivery of material in response to the evolving needs of students to enable them to best adapt the course material to their own professional context.

While the core Foundations class is an intensely full two days, we offer an additional third day to allow for a dedicated Project Development Workshop in which students conceptualize, develop, and refine further application of the skills they acquire under our guidance to their specific needs.

What You Can Expect

As we share the “source code” of our Applied Critical Thinking methodology throughout the course, participants will learn—and practice!—fresh new techniques to:

  • Create optimum environments for constructive collaboration

  • Solicit information with curiosity and creativity

  • Rack, stack, understand, and communicate priorities and data sets

  • Develop, action, and iterate recommendations

Students receive standardized course reference materials that provide explanatory guidance on the art and science of Applied Critical Thinking.  They also produce voluminous additional documentation in response to their hands-on experience with the methodology that results in a high level of personalization of their materials.

  • The output of numerous group exercises throughout the course is delivered to the cohort as a whole after the Workshop along with additional explanatory guidance to further help students with practical application of what they have learned.
